This topic talks about layering techniques, materials you use, instruments, and shade matching

Restorative dentistry has changed in recent years. New materials and techniques allow the execution of the restorations. The goal is to achieve the right balance between biology, esthetic and function by applying a minimally invasive approach.

The main aim of performing direct restorations with composite resins is to handle an easy workflow that allows the clinician to have a predictable, natural, functional and long lasting result. Composite resin is a tooth-friendly material, and it allows a minimally invasive approach.

Course Objective:

• Tell when composite restorations are contraindicated and indicated
• What are the proper isolation techniques
• How should we prepare a cavity for composite restoration in anterior and posterior teeth
• How do we shade select
• How do we increase the lifespan of composite restorations
