HCPC Workshop - Fellows: Choice of Specialty Target: Residents and Senior Residents

Course Description:

The choice of a specialty depends on many factors; personal preference, personality, open vacancies, needs of the country, self-understanding. But another major element in identifying the best specialty is the available fellowships for those specialties. in this workshop, fellows and junior attendings from different specialties present their own challenges, testimonials, and challenges they faced until they found the sub-specialty that is most appropriate for them. They also discuss some tips to prepare all through the journey and how to have alternatives for other specialties.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, the attendees will:

• Compare choices of sub-specialties by listening to fellows and junior attendings in the field 
• Ask for clarification for peers and have an open conversation about their concerns
• A better understanding of the application process for that particular specialty and the available job opportunities
